This partnership is the official response to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive to ensure that every Filipino's experience in the Philippine real estate market is safe, decent, and free from fraudulent traps. By combining DHSUD's regulatory oversight with the NBI's formidable investigative expertise, the government aims to destroy all networks involved in this illegal and unauthorized land developments activity.
Secretary Aliling emphasized that this new government approach is the best approach for maintaining the integrity and security of the Philippines real estate market and protecting the hard-earned savings of every Filipinos, both local families and OFW alike. This collaboration focuses on proactive monitoring of suspicious online listings and the swift action to those practicing real estate without proper licenses or documentation to back their service.
Senior Undersecretary Eduardo Robles Jr. and other top officials have expressed that this cooperation serves as a stern warning to scammers: the government is no longer just watching idly by, they're now actively hunting down those who threatens the rights and safety of property buyers. Moving forward, the DHSUD and NBI intends to streamline the reporting processes, in hopes of making easier for the public to verify the legitimacy of developers and agents before making a single transaction online or offline.
