Filipino Homes levels up CDO agents with Canva training

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – In a move to blend practical skills with the country’s ongoing housing push, Filipino Homes has started rolling out a series of training sessions on Canva for its real estate agents, beginning with an event in Cagayan de Oro last week.

The training, which carries the title "Mastering Canva for Real Estate Marketing," aims to equip agents with the tools to create professional-looking promotional materials on their own, without needing to outsource graphic design work.

A photo from the event shows the presentation slide displayed on screen, marking the start of what the company envisions as a wider upskilling campaign across its branches.

For a industry that relies heavily on visuals, listing photos, flyers, social media posts, and open house brochures. The ability to design in-house has become more valuable. Real estate agents are increasingly expected to maintain a polished online presence, and platforms like Canva offer a low-barrier entry point for creating content quickly . The training in CDO focused on how agents can apply these tools specifically to property marketing, helping them present listings more effectively to potential buyers.

Filipino Homes has been positioning itself as one of the more active real estate players in the country, and this training initiative aligns with a broader industry trend. Across the Philippines, there is growing attention on making housing more attainable, with government programs like the Expanded 4PH pushing for faster construction and better access to affordable homes . But as developers ramp up supply, such as the recent entry of major projects in Mindanao, including PHirst Park Homes in General Santos City, the need for effective marketing becomes just as critical .

Agents are the ones on the ground, connecting buyers with these new developments. If they can produce crisp, on-brand materials themselves, it speeds up the process and keeps messaging consistent.

While Tuesday's session was held in Cagayan de Oro, there are indications that more trainings may be organized in other chapters of Filipino Homes nationwide. The company has a wide reach, and rolling out similar workshops in other cities would make sense as competition heats up and agents look for any edge they can get.

For now, the agents who attended left with a few new tricks on how to make their listings stand out, one Canva template at a time.
